Internal Customers: WIS Category Managers, Operations Management

External Customers: Product suppliers, Government Regulatory Authorities, Transport and Logistics Providers

– Primary Purpose:
Lead the development and implementation of sustainable Chinese sourcing and logistics strategies aligned to the achievement of the company’s corporate plan targets.

– Scope/Dimensions: Sourcing of identified lines in support of all Australasian operations of WIS.

– Key Result Areas:
Participate in the development of the WIS business strategy through the assessment of trends and developments in the business environment and the development of longer term strategy for business growth, balancing opportunities and risks against organisational capabilities.

Lead and implement a Chinese sourcing and logistics strategy that will support the achievement of the WIS corporate plan targets.

Develop and implement organisational structures aligned to the business strategy.

Prepare required operational budgets, reports and forecasts, aligned to business goals.

Manage expenditure within budgeted levels and identify opportunities to minimise and reduce expenses.

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure continued profitability and service levels.

Establish and monitor performance targets and standards of employees through the establishment of performance development plans.

Build the skills and abilities of sourcing and logistics teams through the identification of learning and development needs and establishing action plans to achieve.

Ensure all departmental activities comply with relevant acts, legal demands and the company’s business ethics standards.

Normally apply the organisation’s Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and written work instructions. Provide resources for OHS&E; continuous improvement needs.
